Most of us, especially landlords, need a little encouragement to take breaks from time to time so that our batteries can recharge. TED Talks for landlords to the rescue!
It can be exhausting answering phone calls and processing applications, dealing with tenant complaints, keeping up with bookkeeping — not to mention the occasional water leak interrupting your day. I know firsthand, having been a landlord for many years myself, that at times landlords place their own priorities far down the list.
What if, for 5-15 minutes every day, you carved out some time to be inspired, informed, and entertained? You might find you have greater energy and resources to devote to your tenants and properties.
If I were your property management coach I’d say, ‘go grab some water (you’re likely dehydrated) and take a listen to one of the following TED Talks curated with you in mind’.

The Busy Landlord Paradox
In the first TED Talk above, Laura Vanderkamp suggests although we feel we don’t have time to spare, the time is there for the things that we make time for — and that should include the most important priority — you!
We all get caught up in the tasks at hand, the urgent and immediate that call loudly to us for attention. So it takes effort into investing time in ourselves; whether that is for self-improvement, mental and physical health goals, or even times of rest and enrichment.
The paradox: Even for a busy landlord, using time for these important goals may actually help you become more efficient with the tasks on your never-ending to-do list and the energy to handle those urgent tasks that pop up from time to time.
