With over 9 months of real world application in Rentec Labs*, the development team is confident the new reporting features in your Rentec Direct software are performing beautifully. The new reports and reporting features are officially out of beta and available for all clients to use. 


New Property Management Reports and Reporting Features

 The reports and reporting features in Rentec Direct have been redesigned and enhanced to provide you with an easy to use interface, advanced filtering and search functions, and the ability to automatically send and receive reports via email.

The updates to the reporting features provide you with options to quickly access your favorite reports, expedite reporting tasks, efficiently analyze information, and automatically share reports.

Rentec Direct’s reports and reporting features include:

  • Options to automatically email reports with the Scheduled Reports feature
  • Visual remodel of the user interface (UI)
  • Options to save your favorite reports
  • Unique links for each report and report settings so you can bookmark for easy access or share a link with a colleague or client 

These are just a few of the enhancements you’ll experience with the new reporting interface. You can easily access the new reporting features  in your software with the click of a button, we’ll tell you how later in this article.

Over the past few months, thousands of Rentec Direct clients have been using the beta reporting features and have been pleased with the following use cases: 

Property Management Reports and New Reporting Features Example Use Cases:

  • Automatically email yourself the prior month’s Income & Expense report on the 5th of each month to automatically keep tabs on profitability.
  • Automatically email yourself any of the reports that contain data you want to review on a regular basis.
  • Automatically email your owners the Owner Statement (A or B) on the 20th of the month.
  • Automatically email your accountant or bookkeeper financial reports each month.

Rentec Direct’s new reports were initially released in December 2023 as Rentec Labs beta feature and after months of testing, Rentec Direct developers are making it available to all clients.

Enable the New Reports Feature in Rentec Direct

You can access the new reports interface by activating the feature in your account. This feature update is available to you at no additional cost and you’ll be able to switch back to the old reports interface if needed.

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Reports
  2. Click on the NEW Try our remodeleded reports link to Try it now
  3. Search for the report you’d like to create by name or click on the “X” to search by
    1. Favorites
    2. Financial
    3. Tenant
    4. Miscellaneous

Tip: Click on the star next to reports to save as a favorite

Note: To revert your account to the previous design, click on the “Return to the old reports” link located at the bottom of all remodeled reports.

What’s next for Rentec Direct Reports

Updates to the reporting features was a major project for the Rentec Direct development team. This update paves the way for future development within the reporting features to include new reports and automation to help you streamline your rental management.

*About Rentec Labs –If you see our lab beaker next to a feature or page within Rentec Direct, it indicates that the feature is new and just leaving the “lab” (aka our software developers’ workshop). A feature included in Rentec Labs has already gone through rigorous internal testing; however, since it is a big new feature it may have had limited testing outside of our offices. Once the feature has been in use externally for some time with no issues, it will leave Rentec Labs.
