We are always excited to share quarterly reports that showcase new features, enhancements, and updates, and highlight some of the upcoming enhancements. You can find these and previous updates in the System Updates and News & Tips sections on the Summary tab of your Rentec Direct account or have them delivered to your email by subscribing to the Rentec Direct Blog. 

In-house, the team refers to large updates as Features or Enhancements and smaller updates as QuickFix, HotFix, issues, or bug fixes. While we don’t report every fix or update to you, you can be assured that your success team, account setup specialists, and development teams work together to evaluate helpful updates that will improve your workflow and save you time.

  • New Feature: Add a custom tenant portal message to display notices and disclosures to all tenants
  • Enhancement 1792 – New Reports Product Billing Statement and Product Billing Summary to review charges to renters
  • Enhancement 2628 – Automatically update affected owners’ ACH From Account field when archiving a bank account
  • Enhancement 2672 – Update subuser property-access permissions to include subunits (toggle multiple properties with shift+click)
  • Enhancement 2687 – Show image/video/audio attachments as thumbnails in messaging and show preview for webp files in ledgers
  • Enhancement 2691 – Include subunits in multiplex “All Statements” report
  • Enhancement 2694 – Allow removing vendor ach fields
  • Enhancement 2701 – Add a sortable future move-in date column to the “Vacant Properties” report

  • Enhancement: Update idle timeout to consider all open tabs.  If any open browser window is active, auto-logout will no longer trigger.

  • Enhancement: Fixed redirect back into a report after saving changes to a transaction

  • Bug fix: Prevent incomplete or empty Scheduled Reports page when a recipient has been archived.

  • Fix: Error preventing email notifications to users about changes to their contact information
  • Fix: Error when modifying a lease with “Update Accounting: Yes” and no existing recurring transactions
  • Fix: Redirect after editing a split transaction goes to the wrong place
  • Fix: Restrict bank account updates to owners for subusers

New Property Management Mobile App

The Rentec Direct Mobile App provides access to your account from any mobile device allowing the convenience of managing your business from the comfort of wherever your “office” may be. With the push notification feature, you can receive an immediate notification of new work orders and responses to texts directly to your mobile device allowing you to promptly address urgent issues

Tenant Portal Bulletin

The Rentec Direct Tenant Portal Bulletin is a great communication tool for displaying messages and bulletins or helping ensure compliance with posted notices through the tenant portal. Tenant Portal Bulletins can be viewed by all tenants and updated as needed.

Remodeled User Website

The newly remodeled website with Rentec Direct property management software elevates your online presence and streamlines communication with your renter and owner clients. You have more options to customize your website with color themes, clickable links to share videos of the property or walk-throughs, and images that are optimized to automatically format to fit cell phones, tablets, and computers.

Full Accounting Options: Assets, Liabilities, and Equity with a True Balance Sheet

Scheduled to go live Q3 2024 enhancements to accounting features, chart of accounts, true balance sheet, and profit and loss reports providing all Rentec Direct Pro and PM clients with full property management account software to help manage to financial health of your investment portfolio.

Work order Enhancements

Enhancements are being made to work orders, providing you with more documentation and communication options directly from work orders. Prompt communication with vendors can help mitigate damages, saving you time and money. Document work to be performed and add notes to a scrollable thread, deciding which notes are to be kept private. Then, text vendors a summary or email the work order as a PDF. Work order reports have been updated to an easy-to-read, modern format.

Automated Email

A new enhancement to the automated email report feature will allow the option to have reports automatically emailed only to your inbox. Save yourself time and take another item off of your to-do list by automatically emailing reports to yourself:

  • Monthly Rent Roll report of all properties
  • Monthly income/expense statement
  • Payment or Settlement Reports
  • Monthly status reports of Renters Insurance Required
