Rentec Direct is honored to announce a new program to support the academic advancement of students pursuing a degree in computer programming, software development or computer science.
The Tech Mastery Scholarship program from Rentec Direct aims to assist undergraduate and graduate students with achieving their academic dreams and future goals.
“We understand that the investment in knowledge pays the best dividends for the future,” explains Rentec Direct president, Nathan Miller. “Rentec wants to support the goals and dreams of future technology influencers and we found one of the best ways to do this is to encourage academic achievement through a scholarship program.
Scholarships like the Tech Mastery Scholarship give students the necessary funding to meet their educational goals. As noted by Chron.com, a study conducted by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation found that, working while in college is the number one reason people drop out. However, having a scholarship that pays for an education and living expenses can actually positively influence drop out rates and encourage students to graduate with the degree of their choice. By reducing financial concerns, scholarships can also mean more time for studying and learning, which can lead to better grades and retention of knowledge and increase your chances for continuing on to graduate school.
About the Rentec Direct Tech Mastery Scholarship
Rentec Direct will offer up to four $500.00 scholarships per year to outstanding college students pursuing an education in Computer Science, software development or other closely related fields of study.
Tech Mastery Scholarship Eligibility
The scholarship is open to all full-time undergraduate and graduate students, enrolled in a computer science degree program, or related field, at an accredited US university. High school seniors planning to attend an accredited university for Computer Science the following term are encouraged to apply.
To be considered, applicants must be in good-standing and should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
How to Apply
Applicants should submit an essay not to exceed 1000 words explaining, in their view, how technology evolved to make an everlasting impact for internet based organizations in the last 5 years. Essays will be judged on the level of creativity, humor (Rentec loves to laugh), and content.
Scholarship Deadlines
Submission deadlines are October 21st (fall) and April 15th (spring). Scholarships will be awarded on June 1st (spring) and December 1st (fall).
